Economic Development Oberberg District - Service for the Oberberg business location
The Oberberg District Economic Development Office is the central point of contact for all matters relating to the Oberberg business location and aims to support businesses, safeguard jobs and sustainably strengthen the region. It performs an important hinge function between business and administration.
With its broad range of services, the Economic Development Office addresses both businesses and private individuals.

Municipal Coordination Office for the Transition from School to Work/Study
The Municipal Coordination Office implements the state initiative „No Qualification Without a Follow-up Plan – Transition from School to Work in NRW“ in the Oberberg District. The „Oberberg Training Initiative“ (AIO) serves as the steering group for this.

The aim of the initiative is to give all young women and men who are able and willing to undergo training a binding training prospect. The systematic transition from school to work/study requires intensive cooperation between the Municipal Coordination Office and all partners involved.

Our Goals for You

The Economic Development Office wants to help make the Oberberg District future-proof. Our work focuses on the businesses and the people who work and/or live here

We identify developments early on, provide recommendations for action and develop concrete measures.
The following goals are our priority:

• Contributing to securing skilled workers
• Developing and supporting projects for the region
• Supporting businesses and private individuals on energy matters
• Contributing to the development of rural areas
• Introducing a comprehensive system for career orientation in the school-to-work/study transition for all pupils from year 8 onwards
• Strengthening tourism as an economic and location factor
• Expanding and maintaining cycling and hiking trails
• Raising awareness of nature and the environment
• Informing about demographic development and raising awareness of its effects
• Evaluating statistical data as a basis for district development
   

Our Services in Figures:

• 40 schools in the Oberberg District supported in the state initiative „No Qualification Without a Follow-up Plan“ by the Municipal Coordination Office
• regular networking meetings offered for over 60 study and career choice coordinators from all types of schools
• we currently work with 8 regional providers on the school-to-work transition
