No Weitblick without guides!​

The volunteer initiative Weitblick is a network and platform for people who want to get involved in their communities.

In the Weitblick offices in the communities, Weitblick guides are available as contacts, mediators, and project initiators during consultation hours on a voluntary basis.

The guides bring together supply and demand on the topic of volunteering in the respective community. They advise interested parties and show opportunities for volunteering in their city or municipality.

Weitblick guides cooperate with volunteers, nonprofit organizations, town halls, and the district administration. In recent years, they have also initiated a wide variety of projects in the district area. How to become a Weitblick guide

If you are interested in becoming a guide, we should definitely meet in person. We can clarify questions during a conversation at our Weitblick office in Gummersbach. Of course, you can also initially contact us via email or phone.

You do not need any prior knowledge! To make it easier for you to get started with Weitblick, we offer a free seminar for you on a Saturday by arrangement. Along the way, you will also meet some of your fellow participants.

Every month, we invite you to training sessions or the “guide exchange” in Gummersbach - you help determine the content of the meetings.

One important reason is certainly that it’s simply fun to make a difference!

The following services are offered to you through cooperation with the district administration:

• Reliable contact persons

• Coverage through accident and liability insurance

• Organization of regular exchanges with guides from other municipalities in the Oberberg district

• Regular training sessions

• Interesting and up-to-date information on the topic of volunteering

• Management of donation funds/issuance of donation receipts

• If necessary: conflict management

• Advertising for your project through the district press office

• Support with administrative tasks and much more
