Transportation Services for People with Mobility Impairments (formerly Transport Service)

The previous procedure for the "transport service for people with mobility impairments" will be replaced by the "Transportation Services" procedure effective January 1, 2024.

The aim of the assistance is to enable or facilitate contact with their environment and participation in social and cultural life for people with mobility impairments.

These include:

• Visits to relatives and friends

• Participation in events that serve socializing, entertainment, education, or culture, as well as

• Carrying out errands or business matters

These do not include, for example, rides to the doctor or for hospital treatment, daycare, school, or school sports, as these are services provided by other payers.

To be eligible for the service, the applicant must first meet the following requirements:

• Possession of a valid disability ID card with the mark "aG"

• Actual residence in the Oberbergischer Kreis

• As a resident of a special residential form or stationary care facility: Actual residence in the Oberbergischer Kreis prior to moving into the facility

• Completion of school education

Individuals in whose name a motor vehicle is registered are not eligible to claim the service.

The service is granted upon application within the framework of integration assistance according to § 113 Para. 2 No. 7 SGB IX in conjunction with § 83 Para. 1 No. 1 SGB IX and is income- and asset-dependent according to §§ 135 ff. SGB IX.

An annual Personal Budget is approved, which can be used for rides with rental cars, taxis, or specialized vehicles (disability transport vehicles with ramps or lifts). It is also possible to pay third parties (e.g., relatives, close acquaintances, neighbors) an expense allowance for rides as part of self-help.

There is no limitation on the area in which the rides take place.
