Integration assistance for physically and/or mentally disabled children and adolescents under SGB IX

People with an existing (or imminent) physical or mental disability are entitled to integration assistance under the Ninth Social Code (SGB IX). Since January 1, 2020, the Oberbergischer Kreis has been primarily responsible as the local provider of integration assistance for reviewing and granting benefits for children and adolescents from school enrollment until the completion of the first educational path.

The following services can be granted, among others:

• Services for participation in education – e.g., inclusion assistants at school, therapy measures, aids (if no other social service provider is primarily responsible)

• Services for social participation – e.g., leisure assistance, mobility services

Note:
For integration assistance services for children not yet enrolled in school and for adults, the Landschaftsverband Rheinland in Cologne is the responsible provider (with few exceptions).
