Used vehicle from abroad

You want to register a used vehicle from abroad. The foreign documents are available.

Required documents

• The complete foreign vehicle documents

• EU Certificate of Conformity from the vehicle manufacturer (CoC paper) or full inspection

• For foreign TÜV: Validity registration date plus 1 calendar month

• For non-EU members: Customs clearance certificate

• Identity card

• Electronic insurance confirmation – eVB code

• SEPA direct debit mandate

• License plate, if registered

Brand new vehicle from abroad

You want to register a brand new vehicle from abroad. No foreign documents are available.

Required documents:

• EU Certificate of Conformity from the vehicle manufacturer (CoC paper)

• Original invoice or original purchase contract as proof of ownership

• Confirmation from the dealership that it is a new vehicle, if this is not clearly evident from the invoice / purchase contract.

• For non-EU members: Customs clearance certificate

• Identity card (original or copy) 

• Electronic insurance confirmation – eVB code

• SEPA direct debit mandate
